ASCORBATE HONEY COMPARED TO NATURAL BEE HONEY AND SUGAR
by Oscar Falconi
The average American receives from all his foods over 100 pounds
of sugar per year, over double what is thought to be a prudent
maximum. All of the products compared below are sugars and are
very detrimental to one's good health. This even includes our
Ascorbate Honey, since the few grams of vitamin C per pound will
in no way be able to counteract all the harm that can be done to
the body by that pound of glucose and fructose. So then, why do
we offer our customers the Ascorbate Honey Kit?
For 8 reasons:
1. Many persons insist on having honey, no matter what the
consequences. Bakers, for instance, must have honey if they
wish to retard drying and staling as mentioned by Dr Stone. By
using our Ascorbate Honey instead of Bee Honey or Invert Sugar,
they'll at least have a safer, cheaper, and healthier honey that
can be flavored to taste.
2. By using 1 cup of our pure Ascorbate Honey, instead of 2 cups
of sugar, in all recipes calling for sugar, the amount of sugar
ingested is decreased by 40%!! The number of calories is also
decreased by 40%!! The same amount of sweetening is obtained
due to the fact that honey is so much sweeter than an equal
amount of sugar. Now you can decrease your sugar intake without
risking the use of natural bee honey.
3. Our unflavored Ascorbate Honey is almost flavorless compared
to bee honey and is therefore to be preferred in recipes in
order not to alter the intended tastes when sugar is called for.
Ascorbate Honey is so flavorless that it can even be used to
sweeten tea and coffee.
4. At about 80 milligrams per teaspoon, our Ascorbate Honey is
an excellent source of Vitamin C, 1000 times greater than
natural bee honey. Table sugar contains no Vitamin C whatsoever.
5. Ascorbate Honey can be made for 1/4 the cost of store-bought
bee honey. In fact, for sweetening purposes, one cup of
Ascorbate honey is even cheaper than the two cups of sugar it
replaces!!
6. Ascorbate Honey is cleaner and safer than bee honey and has
no possibility of containing adulterants, botulism spores,
drugs, pesticides, allergens, wax, bee remains, bee feces, or
other "insolubles" from the hive. (And who knows what "solubles"
have been introduced by the bees.) Ascorbate honey is OK even
for infants!!
7. Probably most important of all, we've offered our Ascorbate
Honey Kit for educational reasons. You'll get the pleasure and
learning experience of making your own artificial honey. You'll
also learn something of the biochemistry of sugar and the
fascinating way the bee gets involved.
8. And finally, we offer our honey kit to bring to the attention
of our customers, and to the world, the insidious nature of all
sugars. Had we not offered our Kit, most everyone would, in
their ignorance, for the rest of their lives, continue to ingest
those 100 pounds of sucrose, glucose and fructose each year to
the great detriment of their good health.
WARNING: Natural bee honey is often said to be a good source of
vitamins and minerals and for this reason might be preferable to
our Ascorbate Honey. Here are the facts: In order to obtain the
U.S. RDA (Recommended Daily Allowance) of iron it would be
necessary to eat 8 pounds of natural bee honey every day !!
From
that point on it gets worse: For instance, 43 pounds every day
to get your calcium requirement, and 75 pounds to get your B1.
Natural Bee Honey is said to be a particularly good source of
Potassium. There's no RDA yet for Potassium, however there's
more in one banana than in 3 full pounds of bee honey. If you
want Potassium, eat a banana - it's lots better for you, and
lots cheaper. In addition, bee honey contains no vitamins A, D
nor E whatsoever. Natural Bee Honey is not good for you. Sugar
is not good for you. Even Ascorbate Honey is not good for you.
They are not to be considered sources of vitamins and minerals.
They should only be used as sweetening agents - and even then to
be avoided as much as possible. We offer Ascorbate Honey for the
8 reasons given above - but be aware of the facts in this
warning paragraph!!
